Just like Epstein allegedly had no “client list”, we also have not included every country Trump has threatened or slapped with Tariffs this week. TACO might mean “Trump Always Chickens Out” to the world, but to us, it stands for Tariff Announcement Covering Others. We picked the ones that felt like they could stand for something because, quite frankly, its no fun always covering Trump Trump Trump Trump…😪

📈 Trump sends Copper Futures Soaring: Trump’s announcement of a 50% tariff on copper casued US Copper future prices to spike by 17%. Meanwhile copper futures in London u-turned, falling ~3%. The result? A nice 20% “free lunch”, as traders exploited the arbitrage opportunity.
📈 Airlines are finding their Groove: With an estimated 5 billion passengers in 2025 leisure travel is on the up. Yet, the US consumer is cutting back. Delta trimmed its EPS forecast for 2025 by 20%, despite releasing a bumper earnings report on Thursday, sending its stock up by 13%.
📈Crypto Takes the Hill: Congress is holding “Crypto Week” (July 14-18) to vote on major digital asset bills. Of which is the GENIUS Act which would let corporations issue their own stablecoins (tokens backed 1:1 by cash). BTC hit an all-time high amid the news.
📈Tariff Fatigue: Bank of America and Goldman Sachs both raised their year-end forecast for the S&P 500 to 6300 and 6600, respectively. Analysts on Wall Street have stopped believing tariff threats (“TACO”) and they’re no longer taking Trump on face value.

🌎 The Pentagon Enters the Mining Industry: The US Defense Department reached a deal with MP Minerals ($MP) on Thursday - agreeing to acquire 15% of America’s largest rare-earth miner. In response to the government endorsement shares rose 50%.
🌎 Trump Continues to Dislike NA Co-operation: Canadian tariffs are set to rise to 35% (from 25%) and Trump’s eyeing a tariff of 30% for Mexico (where does he get these numbers…) from August 1 due his claims of fentanyl entering the US via Canada and Mexico.
🌎 Chalmers Failed to Charm: Trump’s recent announcement of Copper and Pharmaceutical tariffs 50% and 200%, respectively, shows the US’ lack of care for Aussie interests. Approx 40% of Australian pharmaceuticals end up in the US, a total of A$ 2.2bn.
🌎 Tariffs Go Both Ways: Despite markets not reacting as harshly to tariff threats. Trump’s ‘alleged’ 50% tariff on Brazil has triggered some real pushback as US run a trade surplus with Brazil, meaning American industries stand to lose.
